be. A mindful symphony   2021

Four white walls, the sound of breathing. Do not fill the void. Do not fill the void. To be, linger with the unbearable feeling of chaos that's beginning to rise. Do not fill the void. Do not fill the void. A blank page. The silence between the lines. A sleepless night. Do not fill the void. Do not fill the void. Practice, allay, move. Fill the void.

To be in a void.

Does it mean to be completely clean, does it mean to be born again into nothing or does it mean to face emptiness? Will you be facing your own presence or the feeling of alienation and loneliness? Will you get the urge to fill or empty the void?

These questions are born out of a life experience of being alienated, from the constant feeling that my place in the world is in doubt. Where do I belong? Where is the space can I call my own? I deal with this feeling of foreignness by the almost uncontrollable need to flood the world with content, visuals, sound and action. Or rather, perhaps with my own presence.

As an artist I am searching for a meeting point between the object being look at by a viewer and the subject that creates the content for the viewer to see. Naturally, because I use myself and my body as the material in my work, I become both the object and the subject at the same time. A meeting point that simultaneously creates intimacy and alienation. That unmediated relationship on one hand and intermediated one on the other between the artist and the viewer, that I want to create by the occurrences in the artistic space, is supported by the actual presence of myself as the artist in the space. A presence that can exists in the dimension of consciousness when standing in front of any art piece, but will exist especially when the artist is present in his own body.

This piece approaches this subject using images from the worlds of meditation and yoga practice.  The Yoga philosophy speaks about an energy connecting all the citizens of the world. An energy that crates a space for hilling, connecting an interacting with one's consciousness, body and inner central self, and through that with others.

Be.  A mindful symphony is a key to an uncensored human moment. To the honesty of the deepest thoughts of everyday life. I'm creating fragments of real life thoughts I documented from my own meditation practice. I'm installing this piece in an underground space that contains one TV screen and five projections over screen like objects. Through sound, words and visual I want to invite viewers to enter into a breathing body, a thinking mind, a living soul. Coming from the idea that the inner sight is art. Life is art. Body is art. What there is art.
